Back when I was flying we had a hand cranked gas pump. Not really that fun. Maybe a pedaled pump would have been more rewarding. Though to be fully honest, in the winter, if you didn’t have gloves, turning the plastic pump handle was way better than holding the metal nozzle.

For some reason, I initially interpreted your comment as “The plane had a hand-cranked fuel pump”, and then I was imagining you having to manually pump fuel into the engine while flying the plane, which sounds both tiring and terrifying. And then you expressed the desire to have been pedaling this pump instead...

Ha ha, no... IIRC the Cessna 152 is just gravity fed.
As for pedal planes... well I’m probably too fat to get a Gossamer Condor/Albatross type aircraft off the ground:
